M. Pawlicki, A Kędzia also observed formation of [18]triphyrin(4.1.1) derived from the specific reactivity of a furan entrapped in a macrocycle. Oxidative transformation of the final molecule gives two rigid lactams presenting structural factors of optically active compounds.
