Welcome to the website of the Chemistry of Porphyrins and Metalloporphyrins Research Group led by prof. Lechosław Latos-Grażyński. Our research is conducted at the Chemistry Department, University of Wrocław, Wrocław, Poland. You can also check out our Facebook page.
The existence of our group dates back to 1985 (though it was formally established in 1990). Since then we have investigated various aspects of porphyrin chemistry [read more].
Currently our principal interest focuses on the synthesis and coordination chemistry of porphyrin analogs. They include core-modified porphyrins (heteroporphyrins and, especially, carbaporphyrins), expanded, contracted, and isomeric porphyrins. In the exploration of their coordination properties we lay special emphasis on paramagnetic complexes, which we investigate using paramagnetic NMR spectroscopy.
In addition to their research activity members of our group teach undergraduate students. The specific subjects include general, organic, and organometallic chemistry as well as NMR spectroscopy.
